Jack grew up in the suburbs of Detroit, MI and moved to Chicago in 2005. He studied to be a minister and completed his bachelor's degree from Moody Bible Institute in 2009. While taking a year off from school and planning to go to grad school, he accepted a job at Chicago's largest leasing company. It was there that he fell in love with real estate and discovered his passion for serving others through business. In the first year, he became the agent of the year in the largest branch of the company and after 18 months he was the top producing agent in the company.
In 2013, Jack acquired his managing brokers license and opened Berdan Real Estate with a focus on helping clients buy and sell real estate. Since then, Jack has grown the team to 6 people and has been acknowledged as a Top 1% producing team in 2016-2018 amongst the entire Chicago Association of Realtors. He now leads the Berdan Real Estate Team's strategy and growth efforts. In his spare time, he has a passion for acquiring old properties and turning them around.
Since 2013, he has developed apartment buildings and commercial properties throughout the midwest. Jack lives the West Loop neighborhood. When not thinking about real estate, he enjoys sailing on Lake Michigan in the summer and traveling in the winter.
Catherine is originally from Charleston, South Carolina and went to college with Jack Berdan right here in Chicago. She had the unique opportunity of being Jack's first hire and was instrumental in establishing smooth and efficient processes enabling Berdan Real Estate to grow into what it is today. She immediately took on the responsibility of property management and has been able to establish connections with reliable contractors.
As a broker, Catherine works primarily with our listings and offers guidance through her knowledge of interior design, staging, and upgrade projects. Catherine owns a condo in Tri-Taylor, is an avid bubble tea drinker, and loves traveling the world with her husband.
